When tuning a VW Karmann Ghia Coupé to the max, it has serious
oversteering-problems. The rear breaks out on _every_ steering-move.
It there a way to increase grip on the rear tires, or should I just use
harder tires (decreasing overall grip and cornering speed) at the front to
neutralise the car?

not sure, Robert, but advice on forums etc is very rarely max tune
anything, unless it's for straight line speed. There are some decent
little guides to tuning, basic steps to help balance cars. Little
tricks like picking the right differential, or tuning it properly can
make a heck of a difference. Try Gamefaqs and search for other tuning
guides.

I usually set up my cars on the Nurburgring (on GT3 I used the Complex
String, which was more circuit-like with its smooth surface).

I think I tried everything now. Softer suspension (stabiliser, dampers and
spring rate), more camber, toe in, full LSD, weight balance to the front,
but nothing seems to do the job. So in the end, I just put harder tires on
the front.

Now, let's try to set a good time, and invite all of you to beat me with
this car. :-)

Did about 4 laps, and got 8:26.336 on the second lap. After that lap, it
only got worse, especially in the first 10 corners. There's enough room for
improvement. :-)

Sorry Robert, my eyes are probably not up to doing this right now, but
I'll have a go when they feel up to it

8:20.569 now, and I still messed up in some corners.

General tip is to make the front stiffer. Increase the front end spring
rate and anti-roll bar, leave the rear a bit softer, but increase the camber
on the rear. This should balance it out a bit, you could also try some
toe-IN on the rear. I haven't played with the Karmann Ghia, so can't
suggest any figures.

Good Luck
